Opportunity:
RN - ER
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts with multiple scheduling options: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM, 3:00 PM-3:00 AM, 9:00 PM-9:00 AM, 11:00 PM-11:00 AM, and 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Leadership will create schedules based on department needs
• Weekend and holiday requirements vary based on department needs
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (NRP preferred)
• Must pass a 90% pass/fail open book exam on Friday during orientation or face contract termination
• Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
• Valid driver's license required at submission
• Must be located outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Patient ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, 1:1 ICU/Trauma
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Floating required to OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once per week
• Work in fast-paced, high acuity environment treating trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and strokes
• Administer common drips typical in Level I trauma emergency departments
• One week onboarding with 2 shifts at Bergan and 1 shift at UC
• Use EPIC charting system
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center with pediatric state certification and comprehensive stroke center designation. The emergency department features 20 beds including 5 trauma bays, 10 observation beds, hallway beds, a 6-bed Fast Track unit, and 3 triage beds. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house security, both physicians and mid-level providers on staff, charge nurses on each shift, and support staff including nurse aids, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters to ensure comprehensive emergency care delivery.
