Opportunity:

CARDIAC STEPDOWN

Job Details:

• Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing professional/clinical knowledge and skills in patient care
• Day shift maintains 1:4-5 patient ratio, night shift maintains 1:5-1:6 patient ratio
• Every other weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 16 hours NBO (Need By Orientation)
• May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses
• Must have 2 years of previous cardiac stepdown experience
• Must have EPIC EMR experience
• Work history must show 24 months of current stepdown/progressive care experience
• First time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Active Illinois or Iowa nursing license required
• Skills checklist specific to stepdown/progressive care required
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months preferred
• Driver's license required
• Charge nurses prioritize safe assignments considering cardiac experience levels

This healthcare facility features a cardiac stepdown unit that provides specialized care for patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. The facility utilizes EPIC electronic medical records system and maintains structured orientation schedules throughout the year. The organization emphasizes interdisciplinary team collaboration and focuses on providing safe, quality patient care with appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios based on shift requirements.
