Opportunity:
L&D RN
Job Details:
• 13-week assignment with variable 3x12 hour shifts, most likely straight night shifts
• If covering both nights and days, schedule flips every 4 weeks
• 60 guaranteed hours per 2 weeks with possibility of being called off for one 12-hour shift per 2-week period
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 2 years of experience required, first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP
• Charge experience preferred or willing to train as charge
• Alaska RN license required - pending license okay but must complete application within 48 hours of signing
• May float to like units within scope to meet facility needs
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 2:1 during day shifts
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• Epic charting system experience required
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Free parking available
• Must live at least 50 miles from facility
• Two professional references required covering 1 year within last 3 years
Facility:
This is an acute care Magnet-designated hospital with 407 staffed beds, recognized as a Level II Trauma center and Best Hospital in Alaska by U.S. News & World Report. The Labor & Delivery unit is a high-risk facility featuring 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms. The unit averages 7 daily deliveries but can handle up to 14 patients with inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
