Opportunity:
L&D RN
Job Details:
• Work 3x12 night shifts with 60 guaranteed hours per 2 weeks
• 13-week assignment starting ASAP
• Every other weekend required
• 2 years of experience required, no first-time travelers accepted
• Must have Alaska RN license in hand for auto offer
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP
• Epic charting system experience required
• May float to like units within scope to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Traveler can be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
• Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 2:1 during day shifts
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Work with high-risk labor and delivery patients, antepartum care, and OB triage
• Handle average of 7 daily deliveries but often up to 14 patients with inductions
• Assist with cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and neonatal resuscitation
• Provide care in 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
• Must live at least 50 miles from facility (no locals accepted)
• All time off must be included in submittal and approved individually

This acute care hospital is a Magnet-designated facility with 407 staffed beds and Level II trauma capabilities. The facility has been recognized as the best hospital in Alaska by U.S. News & World Report. The labor and delivery unit is a high-risk specialty unit that provides comprehensive obstetrical services including OB triage, labor and delivery, antepartum care, and surgical services. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
