Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 16-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Patient ratios of 1:2, with 1:1 ratios for certain device patients
• Free floating charge nurse available to assist staff
• Unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
• Student Nurse Externs available on variable shifts to assist with tech duties
• Required equipment experience: Philips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling requirements: 2 weekends per month, 1 summer holiday, and 2 winter holidays
• Floating policy: May float to other ICUs or other floors as needed
• Must have strong critical care experience including CVICU experience
• Advanced skills required: PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring
• Preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT
• Provide care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADs
• Perform central line insertion, swan insertion, and intubations on unit
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Dress code: Black, red, or galaxy blue scrubs with scrub jackets or vests only

The CVICU features 5 full-time surgeons performing high-volume and advanced cardiac surgeries, with an intensivist assigned to the unit 24/7. The unit specializes in post-operative cardiac surgery care and advanced cardiac devices, supported by a strong and experienced nursing team known for excellent teamwork and patient care.
