Opportunity:
BLOCK 1ST TIMER - ER RN - Req 10265
Job Details:
• 2 years of nursing experience required (hardstop requirement)
• 1:3 patient ratios for all shifts
• Weekend coverage required: 6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
• No floating between units required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Self-scheduling system
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Epic charting system experience required
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at submission
• Dress code: solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
• Care for patients of all age groups: adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics
• Handle patient diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, NSTEMI, shortness of breath, asthma, GU complaints, headaches, sore throat, lacerations
• Work with interdisciplinary support team including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Skills required: BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, central line care, CVA management, isolation precautions, IV vasopressors, dysrhythmia management, and triage
• Free parking available in employee/visitor parking lots
• Must complete non-billable modules pre-start and annually (average 16 hours)

The emergency department features 42 rooms with 46 beds and maintains a daily census of approximately 136 patients.
