Opportunity:
Float Pool
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Float between MedSurg Tele and PCU units across both campuses and inpatients holding in ED
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage included in permanent staff rotation
• No call or standby requirements
• Unit assignments provided 2 hours prior to shift start via text message from staffing office
• Schedule published 6 weeks out for 4-week periods with float pool scheduler creating assignments
• Must be flexible with scheduling, night shift may accommodate block scheduling
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must take and pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts with 80% score prior to contract signing
• At least 1 year PCU experience required
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
• Must be comfortable titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Must be able to interpret telemetry strips
• Work with geriatric patients, orthopedic patients, post-procedural cardiac patients, post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and CABG post-op day 3-4 patients
• Manage groin sites in stepdown unit and work with RT equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow
• Use Cerner charting system
• Dress code: solid color professional scrubs (transitioning to Navy scrubs in October)
• 8-hour general hospital orientation plus 12-hour shifts at West MedTele and PCU West
