Opportunity:

L&D RN

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 day shifts for 13-week assignment
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate preferred
• Must have L&D, PostPartum, and C-Section experience
• On-call not required but requested
• Float required to POD and sitter roles
• Patient ratios: 1 labor to 3:1 PP couplet for all shifts
• Care for adolescents, infants, and adults
• Handle approximately 160 births per month with daily census varying
• Work with Level II NICU for 32 weeks gestation and up
• Circulate for C-sections and recover C-section patients
• Start IVs and manage various conditions including RDS, sepsis, NOWS/NAS
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• One pre-approved time off period allowed
• Epic charting system used
• 27 rooms available in unit
• Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Local travelers within 50 miles not eligible

Facility:

This short-term acute care hospital is a 325-bed facility that provides comprehensive maternal and newborn care services. The facility features a Level II NICU specializing in caring for infants 32 weeks gestation and up, with capabilities for stabilizing earlier gestations for transport to tertiary facilities. The hospital maintains a busy labor and delivery unit handling 160 births monthly and offers full-service obstetric care including C-section capabilities and postpartum services.
