Opportunity:
Nurse - IMU - Intermediate Care Unit
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with weekend requirements
• Must be on the unit ready to go by 6:45 PM
• Work 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday all considered weekend shifts)
• Patient ratios goal of 1:4, typically running 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Required to float as needed to telemetry or medical-surgical units with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Dress code: Navy blue scrub top and bottom, navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Use EPIC charting system and Sunrise EMR
• Care for patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterization, Tikosyn therapy patients
• Manage radial bands and groin checks but do not pull sheaths
• Strict cancellation policy: 2 shifts maximum per 13-week contract with zero tolerance for attendance issues
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license within 50-mile radius rule
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met with 4 requested days off per month allowed

This acute care facility features a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, providing specialized cardiac and intermediate-level care. The facility maintains comprehensive 24/7 support services including hospitalists, intensivists, IV team, PICC/Midline team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The organization utilizes advanced telemetry monitoring systems and maintains strict quality standards with dedicated clinical assistants and charge nurses who take full patient assignments.
