Opportunity:
Radiation Therapist
Job Details:
• Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5x8 day shifts)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), ARRT, and VA License
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs
• Work with EPIC EMR system
• Provide daily care of cancer patients including accurate interpretation and delivery of radiation treatments
• Perform simulations and provide clinical instruction for radiation therapy students
• Assist during Brachytherapy procedures
• Assist in treatment planning procedures including tumor localization and dosimetry
• Schedule patients and explain pre-treatment and post-treatment procedures
• Interface with physicist and dosimetrist at initiation of treatment
• Act as liaison with supportive care physicians, nurses and social workers
• Prepare room and equipment according to prescription requirements
• Take and process images of all treated areas
• Maintain visual and audible contact with patients during treatments
• Observe patients for unusual reactions and report to designated personnel
• Observe radiation safety measures for patient and personnel
• Document treatment doses accurately and maintain proper billing records
