Opportunity:
RN - PCU
Job Details:
• 12-hour night shifts with shift times of 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-week scheduling managed by unit schedulers
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period (night weekends are Fridays and Saturdays)
• Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
• Floating requirements include Med/Surg and all areas of the hospital, including ICU/ED based on abilities
• Patient ratio of 1:4 with nurse aide/patient care tech support at a 1:14 ratio
• 28-bed unit caring for adult patients including mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients
• RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin, octreotide, insulin, and maintenance dosages of IV medications
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry monitors
• Specialty equipment includes Code Carts, LUCAS Machines, Hoyer lift, and Sit and Stand
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Radius rule: Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
• Orientation includes first week of classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation requiring a minimum score of 90% to continue assignment
• High-flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
