Opportunity:
RN - PCU and MedSurg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts with shift times including 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with self-scheduling available
• Unit 6 East serves as a mixed PCU, Oncology, and MedSurg unit with 27 beds
• Patient population is adults with a focus on oncology and trauma diagnoses
• Daytime RN ratio is 1:4 for PCU and 1:5 for Med/Surg; nighttime ratio is 1:5-6 patients
• Minimum 1 year of PCU and oncology experience required
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Must be comfortable titrating drips including insulin, Cardizem, heparin, and chemotherapy
• Competency with ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring including CVP, A-line, Swan, and EV-1000 required (can train on-site)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), ONS/ONCC
• Charting system is EPIC; experience with EPIC within 6 months preferred
• IV pumps used are Alaris; Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms
• Float to same level of care Med/Surg and PCU units as needed
• Nursing assistant support, charge nurse, PT/OT, RN case manager, social work, educator, and dietician available as unit support
• Scrub color required: Navy Blue
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Driver's license required at submittal
• 2 days of orientation provided; open book pass/fail exam requiring a minimum score of 90% must be completed during orientation
• Radius rule applies: candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• RTO must be requested upfront; 7 or fewer days allowed per 13-week contract with no additional RTO approved
