Opportunity:
RN - Med/Surg
Job Details:
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM or day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirement is negotiable
• Maximum nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5 on nights
• 19-bed Med/Surg unit with charge nurse and house supervisor available on both day and night shifts
• 1-3 CNAs on day shift and 1 CNA on night shift
• Care for patients with CHF, diabetic complications and wounds, pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, hip fractures, and COVID-19
• Post-operative care for TURPs, hip and knee replacements, cholecystectomy, and appendectomy patients
• General medical-surgical experience required with possible general pediatric patients
• May be required to titrate drips infrequently including Heparin and Bumex
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Telemetry monitored by CCU staff with tele board visible to Med/Surg staff
• If placed on low census, expected to report within 30 minutes of call
• Floating as "helping hands" to other departments may be required; option to fully cross-train to other departments
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Unit-specific orientation of 3-6 shifts, longer if needed
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
