Opportunity:
RN - PCU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every third holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with nurse aide/patient care tech support at 1:10 or 2:20
• 35-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, nephrology, stroke, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring diagnoses
• RNs required to titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Charge nurse present on each shift
• Floating may be required to medical floors, ICU, or rehab
• First week consists of onboarding followed by 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation on the floor
• Fast-paced environment requiring positive attitude, strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Pass/fail open book exam required during orientation with a minimum score of 90% required to pass
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Candidate must reside within 50-mile radius of facility

The progressive care unit supports a diverse patient population including cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetic patients, with advanced monitoring capabilities including continuous EEG monitoring.
