Opportunity:
RN - 3West Cardiac
Job Details:
• Work on a 30-bed Cardiac unit located on the 3rd floor of the main building
• Patient ratio of 5-6:1
• Unit staffing includes unit clerk on days, 2-3 PCTs day and night, Nursing Supervisor, and Hospitalists
• Scheduling requires equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
• Floating policy includes other Medical/Surgical areas: general MS, Ortho, PCU, and MS surgical with oncology on a rotating basis unless skill mix is needed
• Cardiac knowledge preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Advanced skills needed: knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips
• Procedures performed on unit include chest tube management, wound vac management, and EKGs
• Documentation system: Meditech-HCA version
• Equipment used includes Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, Philips Telemetry, and MP2s
• Medications managed via WOW with med drawers and PyxisES dispensing system
• Dress code: RN - Navy scrubs; CNA/PCT - ceil blue scrub set and jacket (if desired); may wear white, blue, grey, or black t-shirt underneath with no graphics; no artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish
• Patient experience requirements include bedside rounding, hourly rounding with 5Ps checked, and reporting to PCTs of known needs at beginning and during shifts
• Documentation of telemetry application, acknowledging rhythm strips, and placing in chart each shift required
• NO PASS ZONE policy for bed alarms, call lights, and IV alarms
