Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg | Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Holiday shifts required as needed
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4
• 34-bed Neuroscience unit specializing in stroke, spine/back surgeries, cranial surgeries, neck surgeries, medical neuro disorders, neuro intervention procedures, Guillain Barre, Myasthenia Gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring
• Average patient length of stay is 2-5 days
• Neuroscience NPs staff 24/7 to provide support for all neuro surgery and neuro intervention patients
• Charge RN on each shift with no assignment; House Supervisor supports the whole hospital
• CNAs available with a 1:8 ratio
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and Trachs with RT available as a resource
• Telemonitor system (Philips) coming to the unit in summer 2024
• Travelers are first to float to support all Treasure Valley Med-Surg areas
• No specific scrub color required as long as scrubs are clean and professional
• 2 days of unit-specific orientation plus a didactic day with unit-based educator
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN required
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with a solid MedSurg or Telemetry background; stroke experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), NIHSS

This acute care facility is the only site in its region offering neurosurgery services, serving a large geographic area with a comprehensive neuroscience program. The unit supports a wide range of complex neurological conditions and surgical procedures, with Neuroscience NPs available around the clock. The organization is committed to providing high-quality patient care and offers strong support structures including charge nurses, house supervisors, and assistant managers across all shifts.
