Opportunity:

RN - Medsurg/Onc

Job Details:

• Day and night shifts available: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirement as needed
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available on unit at a ratio of 1:8
• Charge nurse present on each shift as a resource, usually without assignment
• Monitor techs on unit; RNs not required to read and interpret telemetry strips
• RNs required to titrate drips including Lasix and Heparin
• Experience with trach and BiPAP preferred but not required
• Lasix titration experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Will float to other MedSurg units; telemetry RN will handle strips if floated to tele unit; ER holds occasionally; no mom/baby floating
• No specific scrub color required
• 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Block scheduling considered if unit needs are met
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Trauma Level 2, Acute Care setting
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a wide range of medical services including a dedicated Medsurg/Oncology unit with 31 beds. The unit is known for its strong team culture and family-oriented environment, with a focus on ensuring traveling staff feel supported and integrated into the team. The facility utilizes EPIC as its charting system and provides comprehensive support resources including charge nurses and monitor technicians on every shift.
