ER

Job Details:

• Work in a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
• Weekend shifts required - 3 weekends (Friday through Sunday) per 4-week schedule, may be scheduled for 1, 2, or all 3 days of the weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required - float to Pediatric ED if necessary
• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 on days, 1:4-7 on nights; ratios may reach up to 1:8 depending on patient volume and holidays
• Patient age groups include infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• 100-bed department with a daily census of approximately 250 patients
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required
• Triage experience preferred
• Continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, NIH
• ENPC preferred
• Michigan nursing license required - compact license not accepted
• Key skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, IV vasopressors, phlebotomy, and starting and maintaining IVs
• Orientation is 36 hours; modules must be completed prior to working on the floor and are non-billable

Facility:

This facility is a Level I Trauma Center and serves as a center of excellence for bariatric, stroke, and cardiac care. The emergency department features 62 private patient rooms, including 48 adult and 14 pediatric rooms, along with 4 resuscitation rooms. The department utilizes a 5-level triage system and advanced nursing guidelines to expedite patient care. On-site support includes ER case management RNs, SANE nurses, and a ground Critical Care Transport team, as well as interdisciplinary services such as IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams.
