Opportunity:
RN - Telemetry
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Every other weekend requirement with 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Holiday requirement includes working 2 days and 1 evening or 2 evenings and 1 day for Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving
• No on-call or standby requirements
• First to float with possible floating to East Campus and PCU if qualified
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at 1:10-15
• 48-bed unit across two units (4A and 4B)
• Care for patients with COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical diagnoses
• Required to interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift (telemetry monitored remotely by monitor techs on 3rd floor)
• Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA required
• Equipment includes BiPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, and breathing treatments
• Diltiazem administered at set rate (no drip titration required)
• Self-scheduling used with schedules made out 4 weeks in advance
• Charting system: Cerner (experience recommended as only 1 shift of orientation is provided)
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN not required

This acute care facility operates a 48-bed Telemetry and Surgical/Neuro unit split across two floors, providing comprehensive care for a wide range of medical and surgical patients. The unit is supported by a charge nurse who does not take a patient assignment, as well as nurse aides, remote telemetry monitoring technicians, and respiratory therapy services. The facility uses Cerner as its electronic health records system and emphasizes efficient, high-quality patient care across its multiple campuses.
