Opportunity:

RN - Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Weekend night positions: Friday, Saturday, and Sundays OR Saturday, Sundays, and Mondays
• Weekday night positions require every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule (weekend shifts = Saturday and Sundays)
• Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 for floor patients
• Nurse aides available on unit with ratios of 1:7-10, 3 aides per shift
• Charge nurse available 24/7
• Care for patients with neurosciences diagnoses including deep brain stimulators, stroke, seizures, surgical/post-op spines, and neurological disorders
• Strong overall neuro experience required
• Proficiency and frequency with G-tubes required
• Recent EPIC experience required for charting
• Telemetry on unit - RNs document verification of monitor tech strip readings in EPIC; RNs are not required to read strips
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 to manage floor vents; RNs are not required to have vent experience
• Titration performed by physician orders; protocols for titration will be provided during orientation
• Floating may be required to other units within the facility
• Scrub color: any combination of white and royal blue
• Unit orientation: 1 shift on the unit
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS (must be in hand at time of submission); ACLS preferred
• Any background hits must be disclosed at time of submission

This acute care facility operates a 20-bed neuroscience unit providing specialized care for patients with complex neurological conditions. The unit features comprehensive support services including 24/7 charge nurse coverage, nurse aide assistance, and around-the-clock respiratory therapy. The facility utilizes EPIC as its charting system and maintains a collaborative care environment with physician-led protocols to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
