Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts, either 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, days or nights
• 3 shifts per week required with the option to schedule 4 shifts per week at regular rates upon discussion
• Every other weekend (EOW) schedule required
• First to float status applies
• Provide acute care nursing for patients undergoing cardiovascular and surgical services
• Care for fast-paced cardiac and cardiac surgery patients including those from the cath lab, post-open heart surgery, STEMI and NSTEMI patients, chronic vents, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, new BiPAP or CPAP patients, thoracotomies, and renal disease patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 RN to 3-4 PCU patients depending on acuity
• Float to ICU preferred and float to MS/Tele required
• Required skills include EKG knowledge, IV cardiac medication administration, peritoneal dialysis, chronic vents, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps, transvenous pacing, and arterial or venous sheath pulling and care
• Utilize equipment including Philips Cardiac Monitors, Telemetry, Welch Allyn Vital Signs Monitors, invasive monitoring, Medtronic Pacemakers, Cerner EMR, Pyxis medication dispenser, Zoll R Series, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, and Mistral Air Warming units
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Active and in good standing Arizona nursing license required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to signing contract
• Dress code: Navy scrubs and business-appropriate hair color required

This acute care facility operates a Progressive Care Unit under the Critical Care service line, staffed by hospitalists serving PCU patients. The unit supports a wide range of complex cardiac and surgical cases in a fast-paced environment. The facility is equipped with advanced cardiac monitoring and life support technology to ensure high-quality patient care across multiple service lines.
