Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

• 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
• Orthopedic/Rehabilitation experience required
• Experience with total joint replacement and braces required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience administering cardiac IV/intravenous push medications highly preferred
• First time travelers accepted
• Required certification: BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Iowa nursing license required - must be active or compact/multistate at time of submission
• Float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
• Unit bed size: 34 beds
• Patient types include orthopedics and total joint replacements
• Specific cardiac drip medications may be administered
• Scrubs: Navy blue solids required
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6
• Weekend schedule: Every other or every 3rd weekend depending on staffing and census
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
• Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical/Telemetry required
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
