Opportunity:
RN - Med/Surg Telemetry
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts preferred with every other weekend (EOW) scheduling requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on day shifts and 1:6 on night shifts
• Unit has 48 beds with an average census of 27 patients
• Must have Med/Surg Telemetry skillset including head-to-toe assessment and orthopedic care knowledge
• IV medication administration required including management of Lasix drip, heparin drip, IVP metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin IV or subcutaneous
• Wound care experience required including drain management and wound vacs
• NGT/G tube care and parenteral nutrition experience required
• Central line management required including PICC, HD catheter, and midlines
• Foley, nephrostomy, and suprapubic catheter care required
• Ostomy care and postoperative patient care experience required
• NGT procedures performed on unit
• Equipment used includes Hoyer lift, automated BP machines, bladder scanner, remote telemetry monitoring, and vein finder
• Documentation system: Altera/Allscripts Sunrise
• Participation in daily multidisciplinary rounds (MDRs) on day shift Monday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 11:00/11:15 AM required
• May float to like Med/Surg Telemetry units (D1, F2)
• Dress code: Scrubs and closed-toe shoes required (no Crocs)
• Required certifications: RN License, ACLS, BLS
• License must be in hand at time of submittal
Facility:
This facility is a main hospital offering a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a strong team atmosphere and excellent employee retention rates. The unit is supported by unit secretaries available from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM and patient care technicians, with occasional 1:1 coverage available. The facility features brand new blood pressure machines, an established Unit Practice Council (UPC) that meets monthly, and is part of the HCA family of hospitals.
