Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown/MedSurg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays worked as scheduled, expected to work approximately half of all recognized holidays
• No call or standby requirement
• Flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients based on patient and hospital needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 3:1 for step-down, 6:1 for med-surg floor
• Clinical Associates (nurse aides) available with a goal of 3 CAs at all times (1:10 ratio)
• Diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses
• RNs will have orders written to titrate drips including heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, and TPN
• Will see CPAP, BiPAP on floor and step-down; HiFlow and vents in step-down (vents requiring settings adjustment transferred to ICU)
• Remote telemetry surveillance center and central monitoring available on unit; RNs not expected to read their own strips; Philips telemetry monitoring equipment used
• Charge RNs and House Supervisors available 24/7
• First to float or be pulled to other floor/step-down units
• EPIC charting system used - EPIC experience required
• Scrub color: any combination of royal blue and white
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment, 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care facility features a 29-bed flex unit currently under construction, with all beds set to be step-down equipped upon opening in the first quarter of 2026. The unit is designed to serve both floor and step-down patients, accommodating a diverse medical patient population. The facility maintains comprehensive support infrastructure including remote telemetry surveillance, central monitoring, and 24/7 charge RN and House Supervisor coverage to ensure high-quality patient care.
