Opportunity:
RN - ER
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Variable weekend and holiday schedule based on department needs
• Float to OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once per week
• Level I Trauma Center with 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 OBS beds, and hallway beds
• Fast Track area with 6 beds and 3 dedicated triage beds
• Patient ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, 1:1 ICU/Trauma
• Common diagnoses include trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and strokes including TPA administration
• Administer all common drips seen in Level I Trauma ERs
• Required to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Charting system: EPIC
• Fast-paced, high acuity environment
• Recent Level I or Level II Trauma experience required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Pass/Fail open book exam required during orientation with a minimum score of 90% required to pass
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (NRP Preferred)
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
Facility:
This facility is a Level I Trauma Center and Pediatric Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center providing care across a wide range of high-acuity medical conditions. The emergency department operates 24/7 with in-house security and is supported by both ED physicians and mid-level providers on every shift. The facility maintains a dedicated charge nurse on each shift along with nurse aides, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters to support the care team.
