Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 6 weekend shifts per contract
• Self-scheduling
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• CCRN preferred
• ECMO experience preferred
• Required skills include: arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, and ventilator management
• ECMO, LVAD, IABP, and EKOS procedures performed on unit
• Treat patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include heart and lung transplant, CABG, STEMI, NSTEMI, ARDS, heart failure, vascular, esophagectomy, and VATS
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• 44-bed unit with a daily census of 44
• Compact or Kentucky state license required
• Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted at this facility

This large academic health system operates a comprehensive cardiovascular intensive care unit with 44 beds, providing advanced cardiac and surgical care. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team and offers specialized procedures including ECMO, LVAD, IABP, and EKOS. The facility provides extensive specialty support services and is equipped to manage complex patient diagnoses across cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery specialties.
