Opportunity:
RN - ER
Job Details:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an ER setting required
• Kentucky or compact nursing license required
• Travel experience preferred but not required (first-time travelers accepted with Level 1 ER experience)
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 4-5 weekend shifts per 6 weeks required
• For 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM shifts, Friday and Saturday count as weekend shifts
• For 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM shifts, Saturday and Sunday count as weekend shifts
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Pre-approved time off limited to two requests; RTO longer than 1 week not approved unless special circumstance
• 40 orientation hours required
• Daily census of 90 patients with approximately 250 visits per day across 84 rooms and 100 beds
• Patients served include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC (PALS may be substituted), TNCC, NIHSS
• Required skills: care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage
• Must complete advanced math exam, med/pharmacology exam, EKG onboarding exam, ED competency exam, ED skills, and CORE exams during onboarding
• No Trauma Level 1 experience required; Trauma Level 1 experience preferred

This facility is a large, high-volume emergency department with 84 rooms and 100 beds, seeing approximately 250 patient visits per day. The department provides comprehensive emergency care across all age groups and offers robust interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The facility maintains a strong focus on compliance and clinical competency through thorough onboarding and ongoing education requirements.
