Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement within a 4-week schedule
• Holiday requirement includes working 2 days and an eve, or 2 eves and a day for Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving
• No call or standby requirement
• First to float, with potential floating to East Campus and PCU if qualified
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at 1:10-15
• 49-bed Telemetry unit on the 3rd Floor
• Common diagnoses include CHF, respiratory, GI, diabetics, telemetry, post cath, and total joint replacement patients
• Required to read and interpret telemetry strips and sign off at least once per shift
• Diltiazem/Cardizem drips administered at a set rate (no titration required)
• Equipment includes BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments
• Cerner charting system used with only one day of orientation provided
• Cerner experience strongly recommended
• Experience with CVA and TIA, and total joint replacement required
• Self-scheduling used with schedules made out 4 weeks in advance, finalized by manager
• Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Must take and pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to signing contract
• BSN not required
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract, or 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 49-bed Cardiac/Medical Telemetry unit with comprehensive support services including charge nurses and house supervisors. The unit is equipped with modern cardiac monitoring technology and respiratory equipment, providing care for a diverse patient population with cardiac, respiratory, and post-surgical needs. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic health record system and maintains a structured scheduling system to ensure consistent staffing and quality patient care.
