Opportunity:

RN - NICU/Special Care Nursery

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement: Days - Saturday and Sunday, Nights - Friday and Saturday
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Level II NICU with 10 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-3 depending on acuity
• Must be competent in couplet care in postpartum and able to attend deliveries
• Must have Level II NICU experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience (will consider 1 year of experience with multiple prior travel assignments)
• Must be experienced with stabilization and attending high and low risk deliveries and transitioning newborns
• Must be experienced with postpartum couplet care including well newborns and maternal care
• Must have experience with ventilators, bubble CPAP, and high flow oxygen equipment
• Common patient diagnoses include low birth weight, prematurity, respiratory conditions, hemodynamic issues, bubble CPAP, tube feeds, feeders and growers, and substance abuse babies
• Common drips include TPN and lipids
• NNP available on-site 24/7 and RT available in house 24/7
• May float to Mother Baby unit
• Scrubs provided
• Orientation includes an 8-hour compliance day with manager, an 8-hour Epic class, and 2-3 12-hour shifts for unit-specific orientation
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE

This acute care facility operates a Level II NICU and Special Care Nursery providing specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns. The unit is supported by a neonatal nurse practitioner available 24/7 and a dedicated respiratory therapy team in house around the clock. The facility fosters a collaborative and supportive environment, with leadership that is committed to ensuring all staff provide high-quality patient care through open communication and constructive feedback.
