Opportunity:
NICU RN
Job Details:
• Variable weekend shifts required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on patient acuity
• 24-hour orientation provided
• May float between units; floats to pediatric units only for patients under the age of 2
• Travelers float first
• Weekend coverage every other weekend or as needed
• 48-hour shifts approved
• Block schedules not required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Scrub color: Any color
• No parking fees
• Required skills include but are not limited to: administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, Bubble CPAP, central line blood draw and care, developmental care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), high frequency ventilation, hyperbilirubinemia management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, meconium aspiration, necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, care of neonates under 29 weeks and 29-34 weeks, NICU III and IV level care, nitric oxide (iNO), oscillator management, phototherapy, therapeutic hypothermia, thermoregulation, tracheostomy care, UAC and UVC management, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), and more
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, interpretation services, and unit secretary
• Ventilators managed by respiratory therapy
• Valid Washington or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Must disclose any previous work at a Providence facility at time of submission
• 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• All requested time off must be listed at time of submittal; post-submission RTO will not be approved
• Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
Facility:
This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation, operating 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it supports advanced clinical education and interdisciplinary care across multiple specialties. The NICU unit operates with 61 beds and a daily census of approximately 52 patients, with robust support services including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.
