Opportunity:
NICU RN
Job Details:
• Night and day shifts available with variable weekend requirements
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on patient acuity
• No on-call required
• 48-hour shifts approved
• Float required between all units; on pediatric units, only patients under the age of 2
• Travelers float first
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend or as needed
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• No parking fee
• Required skills include but are not limited to:
- Administration of blood and blood products
- Arterial line management and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
- Bubble CPAP and high-frequency ventilation
- Central line blood draw and central line/implanted line care
- Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- UAC and UVC catheter management
- Neonatal dosage calculations
- Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket)
- Nitric oxide (iNO) and surfactant administration
- Care of neonates under 29 weeks, 29–34 weeks, and 34+ weeks
- Neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal sepsis, and NEC management
- Phototherapy and hyperbilirubinemia management
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Feedings including bottle, breast, and gavage
• Valid Washington or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of candidate submittal
Facility:
This is a short-term acute care facility operating as both a Level II Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. The facility is a teaching hospital offering interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support. The NICU unit has 61 beds with a daily census of 52 and utilizes Epic for electronic charting. Ventilators on the unit are managed by respiratory therapy.
