Opportunity:

Stepdown/ Med Surg Overflow/ CV Exp/ Registered Nurse

Job Details:

• Day shift position
• 36 or 48 hour weekly shift schedule (schedule may change during interview)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Team nursing ratios of 1:12
• Patient ratios of 1:4/5 for days, nights, and weekends
• 48-bed cardiac stepdown unit with private beds equipped for bedside and telemetry monitoring
• Provides close observation and monitoring of cardiac, pulmonary, and other disease processes
• Serves patients requiring more care than standard med/surg but less than intensive care
• Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Cardiovascular experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Telemetry and IV Start skills required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active RN license in state or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines required
• If assignment includes end-of-year holidays, traveler must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays if all three fall during assignment, or at least 1 of 2 holidays if only 2 fall during assignment
• RNs may be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius

This facility is a Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center offering advanced medical services to the community. The cardiac stepdown unit is a multidisciplinary care environment consisting of 48 private beds designed and equipped for bedside and telemetry monitoring, providing close observation for cardiac, pulmonary, and other disease processes. The facility is committed to continuous care and process improvements to ensure high quality care and patient satisfaction.
