Opportunity:

RN - Long Term Antibiotics (10 West)

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6
• Unit consists of 22 private rooms in an acute care setting
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned with 2-4 patients at a time
• Care for patients with infectious diagnoses including endocarditis, abscesses, septic arthritis, sepsis, osteomyelitis, and diabetic foot infections
• Work with a patient population that frequently has underlying substance use histories
• Must be comfortable working with patients who may be actively using or withdrawing from substances
• Must be prepared to manage complex or escalating behaviors related to substance use
• Strong neurological nursing experience required
• Titration performed by physician orders only; protocols will be reviewed during orientation
• Utilize portable telemetry packs for cardiac monitoring
• Nurses are not required to read or interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Chart using EPIC electronic health record system
• 1-2 orientation shifts with a preceptor provided on the unit
• BSN not required
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a dedicated long-term antibiotic unit featuring 22 private rooms designed to provide specialized infectious disease care. The unit is supported by clinical assistants who assist with vital signs, fingersticks, and activities of daily living. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic health record system and provides structured orientation processes including job-specific and department orientation documentation as well as point-of-care testing validations.
