Opportunity:
L&D RN
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts with both day and night shift patient ratios of 1:3
• Labor patient ratio of 1:2 and antepartum patient ratio of 1:3
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call required
• Position may float between units including NICU, Mother/Baby, or elsewhere within the facility
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Provide high-risk labor and delivery care including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
• Perform triage of obstetrical patients and sterile vaginal exams
• Place and calibrate intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC)
• Maintain central lines including CVC and PICC lines
• Administer anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and circulate and recover C-section patients
• Manage Code Stork procedures
• Care for patient age groups including neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Work within a facility averaging 200-300 births per month and approximately 3,200 deliveries per year
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
• Valid Washington or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Facility:
This facility is a Level I Trauma center offering comprehensive labor and delivery services, supporting approximately 3,200 deliveries per year. The unit consists of 25 rooms and 27 beds and is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The facility is a teaching hospital equipped to handle high-risk obstetrical cases and complex procedures.
