Opportunity:
RN - Telemetry
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required (5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; Days: Saturday/Sunday, Nights: Friday/Saturday)
• May be asked to work holidays, but not expected to work every holiday
• Schedule is typically made out 6 weeks at a time with scheduler working with travelers to create schedule
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed (maximum of 5 shifts in a row)
• Travelers are first to float between Telemetry floors 3 and 7, as well as other Med/Surg, Med/Surg-Tele, or Tele units within the hospital and sister facilities in Meridian and Nampa
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• 2 years of experience required; prior travel experience preferred but not required
• Must have post-procedural cardiac experience (cath lab, ablations, open heart)
• PCU and step-down experience preferred
• Must be able to read, interpret, and document telemetry appropriately
• Experience with set rate cardiac drips including amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine required
• Heparin and insulin titration may be required (facility willing to train on insulin if needed)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: EPIC
• Any color scrubs permitted
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided (1 shift on 3rd floor, 1 shift on 7th floor)
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
Facility:
This acute care hospital features a Telemetry department spanning two floors, with the 3rd floor focusing on cardiac care including post-operative procedures, open heart surgery recovery, TAVRs, ablations, post-cath, and pacemaker patients, and the 7th floor managing general telemetry including CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, and post-stroke patients. The facility offers a traveler-friendly environment where leadership treats travelers as permanent staff, with many travelers choosing to extend their assignments. Charge nurses are available on each unit, and Crisis and Resource nurses are available in-house as needed. Respiratory therapy is available on each floor to manage high respiratory needs including intermittent high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP.
