Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement as needed
• Holiday requirement as needed
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6, with 1:6 ratio occurring at least once a week
• Common diagnoses and patient types include medical, surgical, and orthopedic cases
• Telemetry available on the floor with a centralized telemetry station
• Respiratory therapy available 24 hours on the floor
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available at a 1:10-12 ratio
• Heparin drips administered; no other titratable drips
• Charge nurse present on each shift and takes an assignment
• Floating may be required to PCU or Burn units
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Orientation consists of first week in classroom followed by two 12-hour shifts on the floor
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certification: BLS
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care
• Must pass an open book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
• Radius rule: Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

This acute care facility operates a 42-bed Medical Surgical unit providing comprehensive care for medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients. The facility maintains a centralized telemetry station and offers 24-hour respiratory therapy support. The unit is staffed with charge nurses on every shift and supported by nurse aides and patient care technicians to ensure high-quality patient care.
