Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement with 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and Thanksgiving Day
• No on-call or standby requirements
• First to float - may float to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at 1:10-15
• 48-bed unit split across two units (4A and 4B)
• Common patient diagnoses include respiratory, GI, diabetics, telemetry, TIA, CVA, as well as general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients
• Required to interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift (telemetry monitored remotely by monitor techs on 3rd floor)
• Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA preferred
• Equipment used includes BiPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, and breathing treatments
• Diltiazem administered at set rate (no drip titration required)
• Self-scheduling used on a 4-week schedule, finalized by manager
• Charting system: Cerner (Cerner experience strongly recommended as only 1 shift of orientation is provided)
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required

This acute care facility features a dedicated Telemetry Surgical/Neuro unit spanning two floors with 48 beds, providing comprehensive care for a wide range of medical and surgical patients. The unit is supported by remote telemetry monitoring, charge nurses without patient assignments, and nurse aides to ensure quality patient care. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic charting system and maintains a structured self-scheduling process to support both staff and patient needs.
