Opportunity:
RN - ICU
Job Details:
• 12-hour day shifts starting at 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week schedule
• Every other weekend required, including both Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday rotation shared with core staff
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 on a 16-bed MICU/SICU unit
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; PALS preferred
• Must have experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center and have worked in hospitals with 300+ beds
• CRRT (Prismaflex) experience highly preferred; sheaths pulling experience preferred
• Required to titrate drips including Precedex, pressors, anti-arrhythmics, sedation, and other common ICU drips
• Must be able to manage and care for patients with complex diagnoses including CRRT, rotaprone, TTM Arctic Sun, mass transfusions, train of 4, ECMO, 24-hour EEG monitoring, EVD, LP drain, neurosurgery, MTP, traumas, spinal injuries, sepsis, DKA, post-surgical recovery, and organ procurement
• Required to interpret telemetry strips; Draeger monitoring system used
• 24/7 intensivist and hospitalist (MD & NP) in house
• Respiratory therapy assigned 24/7 to ICU/PCU with all respiratory equipment available including vents, CPAP, and BiPap
• Nurse aides available on unit
• May float to PCU/CVICU as help-all; floating does not occur frequently
• Scrub color requirement: black
• Orientation consists of 1 twelve-hour shift on shift and unit of hire; first day is 12-14 hours including competencies, computer-based modules, and general orientation
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Schedules provided 6 weeks in advance; block scheduling not guaranteed
Facility:
This acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center operating a 16-bed ICU that includes MICU and SICU capabilities. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services with 24/7 intensivist and hospitalist coverage, dedicated respiratory therapy support, and advanced capabilities including ECMO, continuous EEG monitoring, and organ procurement. The organization is equipped with modern technology including EPIC charting and Draeger telemetry monitoring systems to support high-acuity patient care.
