Opportunity:
CVICU RN
Job Details:
• Self-scheduling block schedules required
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2 (days, nights, and weekends ratio of 2)
• 2 years of experience required
• CVICU experience required
• 36 orientation hours
• 48-hour shifts approved
• May float between units if overstaffed
• May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
• Travelers' refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Daily census of 22 patients; unit has 28 beds and 28 rooms
• Patient diagnoses include post open heart surgeries, vascular surgeries, post MI patients requiring TTM and/or pressors, cardiogenic shock patients with or without devices including IABP, Impella, VAD, CRRT, patients requiring ECLS for cardiac and respiratory failure, and general ICU overflow patients including those with pneumonia, DKA, and OD
• Charting system: Epic (preferred experience)
• Scrub color: Any color
• No parking fee
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN
• Required skills include: arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patient, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVVHD/CRRT, epicardial pacing wire care and management, Impella management, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and additional critical care competencies
• Valid WA or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
Facility:
This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation, staffed with 629 total beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides a dynamic and educational environment for healthcare professionals. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, unit secretary, and interpretation services.
