Opportunity:
CVICU RN
Job Details:
• Position may float between units when overstaffed
• No on-call required
• Every other weekend required
• Block schedules required
• Patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2
• CVICU experience required
• 48-hour shifts approved
• Self-scheduling
• 36 orientation hours
• Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
• Daily census of 22 patients with 28 beds and 28 rooms
• Patient diagnoses include post open heart surgeries, vascular surgeries, post MI patients requiring TTM and/or pressors, cardiogenic shock patients with or without devices including IABP, impellas, VAD, and CRRT, patients requiring ECLS for cardiac and respiratory failure, and general ICU overflow patients including those with pneumonia, DKA, and overdose
• Charting system: Epic (preferred experience)
• No parking fee
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN
• Required skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, IABP management, Impella management, CVVHD/CRRT, epicardial pacing wire care, post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and telemetry
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Valid WA or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility
Facility:
This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center, also designated as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. With 629 total staffed beds, this teaching hospital provides a wide range of specialized services and is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more. The CVICU unit is a specialized 28-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit caring for complex cardiac and critical care patients.
