Job Details:

• Provide direct patient care across neonate through geriatric patient populations in the surgical environment
• Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment
• Communicate continuously with surgeon and anesthesia provider regarding patient condition
• Perform patient care duties in pre-operative, intra-operative, PACU, and post-operative areas
• Prepare patients for surgery in cooperation with anesthesia provider
• Position patients safely and ensure proper padding and protection of bony prominences
• Prep and drape patients correctly for all procedures
• Carry out medical and surgical asepsis before, during, and after all procedures
• Demonstrate competence in preparing and cleaning OR suites before, between, and after cases
• Accurately record, handle, and label specimens per established procedures
• Manage surgical counts according to policy and communicate count status to surgeon
• Perform duties of both circulating RN and scrub RN once trained
• Must be available to work routine scheduled on-call shifts for emergency surgical services
• Active Idaho or compact state RN license required
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with Associates, Diploma, or BSN Degree required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year of hire
• Multiple years of surgical experience preferred
• Basic computer skills required with ability to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs
