Job Details:
• 5x8 day shifts from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday
• Occasional late days approximately 4-5 days per month, rarely working past 5:00 PM on those days
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Call requirement: one day per week and every fifth weekend
• Float as needed within or near facility
• No weekend requirement
• 16 hours of unit orientation
• Scrubs provided
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience not required; local candidates accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT CI
• Required work setting experience: Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab
• Required procedures: Cardiac Stent Placement, Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult), IABP Placement/Removal, Interventional Catheterizations, Left Heart Catheterization, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz Monitoring, Right Heart Catheterization
• Required medications: Antiarrhythmics, Antihypertensives, Emergency Medications, IV Vasopressors, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Reversal Agents, Thrombolytics
• Required IV therapy skills: Blood Product Administration, IV Infusion Pumps, Starting IVs
• Required professional knowledge and skills: 12 Lead EKG, Activated Clotting Time (ACT), Cardioversion, Circulate Procedures, Infection Prevention, Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions, Malignant Hyperthermia Protocols, Monitoring Procedural Sedation, Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale, Sheath Removal and Monitoring
• Preferred procedures: ASD Closures, Cardiac Implant Closure Device, Impella Insertion, Rotablator Atherectomy, Scrub Procedures, TAVI/TAVR
• Preferred vascular skills: Angioplasty, Dialysis Graft Interventional, Upper and Lower Extremity Angiography
• Preferred IV therapy: Assist with Central Line Insertion/Management, Implanted Ports Care and Maintenance, PICC Lines Care and Maintenance
• Preferred professional skills: End-Tidal CO2 Monitoring, External Compression Devices (C-Clamp, Sandbags), Hypothermia Protocols, Laser Assisted Procedures, Pressure Ulcer Assessment/Prevention, Radiation and Laser Safety, Topical Hemostasis, Vascular Closure Systems, Ventilator Monitoring
• Special equipment used: Impella, Penumbra, EKOS, Roto, Ultrasound, Shockwave, ACIST, GE Mac Lab system, Siemens and GE Healthcare Fluoroscopy, Boston Scientific FFR/IVUS, Balloon Pump, iStat, AVOX, Rotablator, TVP
• Documentation and systems: Pyxis, SBAR, Epic
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular disease, congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, pericardial disease, and acute coronary syndrome
Facility:
This facility houses a specialized cardiac catheterization laboratory offering a comprehensive range of advanced cardiovascular procedures. The unit maintains a daily census of 18 patients across 5 procedure rooms and is supported by an interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, phlebotomy, and transportation. The lab performs a wide array of procedures including coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary interventions, PFO/ASD closures, cardiogenic shock management, and advanced interventions such as TAVR and Impella device placement, utilizing state-of-the-art imaging and monitoring equipment.
