Opportunity:

RN - ER/ED Float

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Float within Zone 4 region covering a 60-mile radius based around Garden City, KS, including Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, St. Catherine-Dodge City, and St. Catherine-Garden City
• No home base facility - float assignment communicated on or before Monday start date
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Treat 6-49 patients per day depending on location
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Administer standard ER medications and common drips
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently as no monitor technician is available
• Will be trained and perform Point of Care lab testing
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 on unit
• Charge nurse takes an assignment; tech support available to assist nurses and triage
• 2-3 days of unit/department specific orientation required
• Must be present in state during week of orientation
• Housing must accommodate the full 60-mile floating zone requirement
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• No call or standby requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
