Opportunity:

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with varied start times: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Every other holiday requirement
• 36 hours per week available
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling accommodated when possible but not guaranteed
• Unit is a 28-bed Intermediate Care unit with heavy cardiac focus (up to 75% cardiac patients)
• Average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 days/evenings and 1:5-7 nights (must be comfortable with up to 7 patients)
• Common diagnoses include pre/post caths, pre-CABG, chest pain, NSTEMIs, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, diabetes, dialysis, altered mental status, nephrology, hematology, wounds, and overflow strokes
• Required to titrate drips including insulin, heparin, nitro, diltiazem, and Lasix
• Telemetry techs provide 24/7 monitoring with unit monitors available for nurses to verify rhythm capture
• Equipment includes continuous CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, Vapotherm, nebulizers, and chest PT (no vents)
• May be required to float to other Med/Surg floors or outside the Med/Surg cluster as needed
• Agency staff not placed on call but may be low-censused or reallocated based on staffing needs in 4-hour blocks
• Orientation includes 1 twelve-hour day off unit and 1 twelve-hour shift on unit
• Charting system: Cerner
• Any color scrubs required; must be clean and professional
• Minimum 1 year of Telemetry, IMC, or Stepdown RN experience required
• Majority of cardiac experience required; drip experience required; travel experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a comprehensive range of medical services including a dedicated Intermediate Care unit with a strong focus on cardiac care.
