Opportunity:

ICU RN

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every third weekend requirement
• July 4th holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• 16-bed Medical ICU unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, occasionally stretching to 1:3
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction
• Required to titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation (Levophed, Neo, Cardene, Precedex, Propofol, etc.)
• Must be able to read and verify telemetry strips; monitor techs are available to assist
• Tele monitors are Draeger brand
• Respiratory therapy is shared with the ER; RNs are not required to adjust RT equipment but should be able to troubleshoot
• Charge nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment
• No nurse aides on unit
• Will float to lower levels of care including PCU and Med/Surg; training provided
• 1 shift of orientation for ICU and 1 shift for PCU
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Charting system: EPIC
• Navy blue scrubs required; artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred; travel experience preferred
• Experience with drips, vents, and BiPAPs required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90% required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility

Facility:

This acute care facility is a Level 3 Trauma Center offering comprehensive inpatient medical services. The ICU operates with 16 beds and is supported by hospitalists available in-house 24/7, with intensivists on-site during daytime hours and accessible via telemedicine during night hours. The facility provides a structured care environment with centralized telemetry monitoring and a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care.
