Opportunity:
RN - Labor & Delivery
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
• Care for high-risk labor and antepartum patients including those with epidurals, insulin drips, IV mag, and preterm labor
• Circulate in the OR and serve as baby nurse at delivery
• Float to other Women & Children units including NICU, Pediatrics, and Family Newborn (postpartum) with float-appropriate lower acuity assignments
• Follow AWHONN standards for patient assignments - typically 1 labor patient per nurse or 2-3 antepartum patients
• Utilize Epic for computerized charting and Omnicell for medication management
• Work alongside OB hospitalist available 24/7, break nurse, and resource nurse support staff
• Work with OB Scrub Techs as support staff
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• BSN not required
• Dress code: Hospital scrubs required for Labor & Delivery; personal scrubs for postpartum unit
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (or equivalent)

This acute care facility operates at a Level 2 Trauma center and maintains high standards of patient care across its Women & Children's units. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and Omnicell for medication management, and provides comprehensive support services including dedicated OB hospitalists available around the clock, OB Scrub Techs, break nurses, and resource nurses. The organization follows AWHONN standards for patient assignments and offers a structured orientation program for incoming travel nurses.
