Opportunity:
RN - Observation
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with both day and night availability, from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week for twelve-hour shifts
• Work week runs Sunday through Saturday
• 1:5 RN to patient ratio maintained 24/7
• 24-bed unit with high patient turnover, including up to 12 admissions and 10 discharges within a 12-hour shift
• Care for primarily observation patients including chest pain, abdominal pain, hysterectomies, knee scopes, adult tonsillectomies, appendectomies, hernias, and infusion patients requiring blood or antibiotics
• Care for inpatients expected to be discharged within 48 hours
• Perform IV starts, dressing changes, Foley catheter care, and pre/post-operative patient care
• Charting completed using EPIC EMR with Acudose for narcotic dispensing and medication scanning
• May float to other Med-Surg areas following the same rotation as permanent staff
• Will never work alone
• Orientation includes 2-3 twelve-hour shifts with a preceptor and classroom training for the charting system
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Active ND or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required

The organization utilizes modern technology including EPIC EMR and electronic medication management systems to support high-quality patient care.
