Opportunity:
Step Down RN
Job Details:
• Step-down/IMC unit position with a 1:4 patient ratio on days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Position may float between other IMC units within scope
• 48-hour shifts approved
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Unit focuses on renal floor with patient diagnoses including renal-related conditions
• 30-bed unit with an average daily census of 28.8
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips is a hard stop requirement
• IMC experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Key skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, and telemetry
• Dress code for licensed nursing personnel requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire; print tops are not acceptable
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility operates with 379 staffed beds and holds a Level II Trauma Center designation. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and maintains modern equipment and technology to support a wide range of patient care needs. The step-down unit is supported by a full team of specialists including respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
