Job Details:

• Day shift position Monday through Friday with shift start time of 6:45 AM until 3:15 PM
• Scheduled for 8-hour shifts but may be required to stay late until all cases are completed
• Required minimum of 1 weekday call shift per week with 30-minute response time
• Required up to every other weekend of call with 30-minute response time
• Required to rotate holiday call with 30-minute response time
• Operate within a 6-suite OR performing approximately 22 cases per day
• Common cases include scleral buckle, vitrectomy, corneal transplants, cataracts, minor general surgery, minor spine stabilization procedures, spinal cord stimulators, ENT procedures, and dental procedures
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an OR technician required with ophthalmology experience mandatory
• May be required to float to other surgical departments
• Hospital orientation provided followed by unit-specific orientation in One Day Surgery Building
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or greater, 1 shift per assignment less than 13 weeks
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Scrubs will be provided
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)

This acute care facility operates a comprehensive surgical services department featuring a 6-suite operating room that handles a high volume of specialized cases daily. The facility provides a wide range of surgical procedures with a strong emphasis on ophthalmology and offers a structured orientation program to support incoming staff. The organization maintains charge nurse and house supervisor support and utilizes EPIC as its electronic charting system.
