Opportunity:

RN - MICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour variable day and night shifts available: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday requirement (or more if willing/able)
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Self-scheduling available, though agency staff are last to submit hours and block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• 16-bed Medical ICU unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2, or 1:1 for higher acuity patients
• One nurse aide available per unit to support nursing staff
• Common patient diagnoses include respiratory, stroke, neurological, GI, and cardiac conditions
• RNs required to titrate drips including propofol, precedex, vasopressors, and all standard ICU drips
• RNs must read their own patient monitor strips and be proficient in rhythm interpretation
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 with full range of equipment including vents, BiPAP/CPAP, vapotherm, trachs, and nitric
• Two pulmonologists serve as attendings during the day, each with a resident team; one team on at night
• Agency staff are first to float to like units or serve as patient observers within the hospital
• No specific scrub color required; clean and professional appearance expected
• One day hospital orientation followed by two days of unit-specific orientation
• Charting system: Cerner experience required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience and 1 year of travel experience required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS

Facility:

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering comprehensive critical care services within a well-supported medical ICU environment. The unit is staffed with pulmonologist attendings and resident teams, along with 24/7 respiratory therapy support, ensuring a high level of care for complex and critically ill patients. The facility utilizes Cerner as its charting system and maintains a collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care across all shifts.
